Space For Change supports the wellbeing and welfare of artists, and those involved in community, environmental or social justice work. Space For Change offers reduced rate Craniosacral Therapy and Coaching to help prevent stress, exhaustion and burn out, whilst supporting change makers to continue to ‘be the change’ they want to see in the world. Craniosacral Therapy helps with minor and major health issues whilst Coaching offers support to individuals to transition from where they are now to where they want to be in future.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful hands-on therapy which uses a light touch to stimulate the body’s own self-healing abilities. Its main purpose is to enhance the free flow of the body’s inherent vitality. This supports the healing forces within, to release tensions and restrictions, overcome disease and disturbance with the aim of resolving symptoms and their underlying causes.
During a session the client lies down fully clothed on a treatment couch. The therapist’s touch is gentle and non-invasive. A deep feeling of relaxation or sensations such as tingling, heat or pulsation may be experienced. CST can help with a wide range of conditions – from minor aches and pains to severe and persistent chronic health issues. Although issues can also be resolved in one session, normally a series of sessions would be undertaken weekly or monthly.
“From a future that seemed blank and without purpose, I feel pruned, deadheaded and invigorated…I am extremely grateful to Fern for encouraging, facilitating and supporting me through this process.” Emily
Coaching can help birth a new idea, business or project, resolve a tricky issue or situation, or make change in one’s life or work. It involves creating a safe space for dialogue, inspiration and challenge. Coaching is goal-directed and solution focused and is a space to consider situations, explore options and agree on useful actions. Old ways of doing things or worldviews are gently examined, and new choices made from a place of conscious awareness.
Coaching can be undertaken as a one-off or series of sessions, face to face or by phone or Skype. Sessions might focus on purely professional or personal issues or a combination of both.
“Being coached is always challenging because you have to come up with the answers and ways forward yourself, but this is why it is so powerful.” Josh
